Psquare are back! After what seemed like an eternity
of squabbling and in-fighting, the singers have decided to enjoy the
company of each other, make music, put up a formidable front, and
continue their dominance on the internet.
Peter
Okoye, the rebellious member of the gang, in a video online, has
released a video showing contrition and begging for the fans to show
support.
“I want to take responsibility for
what has happened and sincerely apologise to you our fans. For
supporting us throughout this journey we owed you so much more than what
you have had to endure and I apologise for that. We are embarking now
on a new journey with exciting new management (Jude Okoye), new music
and new ideas.”, Peter wrote.
New music is sure to come from the group, but will they release another album this year?
This is not the first time the Psquare brothers have
tried to dismantle the group, fought bitterly, and returned. In 2014,
the trio went through similar motions, completing the cycle with the
release of their “Double Trouble” LP, which contained the hit singles
‘Shekini’, and ‘Ejeajo’. Right now they are reactivating it. The rumors
had come and gone. The fight showed up with a thunder. An
earth-shattering interview was granted. Social media outburst were
released. Songs to mark the beef showed up from nowhere, leading the
fans to a climax. Now an anticlimactic apology has been offered publicly
to start the recovery process. Now that’s where all their systems kick
in and the money man (Jude) begins a scheme to help the process bring in
the financial game.
The economics of the reconciliation will have to be right. How else will the apology and public posturing be worth it?
A
new album will be release before the end of the year. Or if that fails,
the first quarter of the New Year will be chosen. But that album has to
come out right. It will come out with a marketing strategy to appeal to
the emotions of the fans who have poured their anger, and will now have
to shower them with praises on their reconciliation.
That album is coming…I can smell.
